Gqom music is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in Durban, South Africa, in the early 2010s. It is characterized by its minimalistic, hard-hitting, and bass-heavy sound. It’s often dark and edgy, with moods that can suit drama as well as sports and advertising.The name Gqom is a reference to the sound of a kick drum.

Mama Dance started their Gqom offering with an album called Gqom Explosion.  That album was so successful we developed three more albums in the series.  The demand for Gqom tracks, especially with ad agencies, inspired Mama Dance to create even more including: Super Gqom and Gqom fusion albums like Rock Gqom.  You won’t find albums like this on other libraries!
